Treats with real chicken only
TrueTumz chicken based treats (Biscuits , Jerky) are made of 100% real chicken. Our real chicken treats don’t have chicken in the form of processed chicken powder or chicken meals etc. Chicken is the main and most important ingredient in non-veg biscuits and also the most abused. Many manufactures get away with adding low quality cheap chicken powder to their biscuits. This powder is made of processed feathers, beaks , non edible parts , offal etc. Treats with such low quality chicken powder can lead to digestive issues and long term health complications. We don’t use any kind of chicken powder. We use only real chicken minced and added to the dough directly to bake those sumptuous treats for you doggo.
Healthy Dog Treats
We add only real truthful ingredients to our treats. All our treats are gluten free… Some of our treats are not only gluten free , they are infact 100% grain free. We have chosen ingredients for our treats which add to the health of our doggos – ingredients like buckwheat ( Kuttu) , gram flour , REAL human worthy chicken , vegetables like spinach , green beans , pumpkin etc Also roots like sweet potatoes and carrots and fruits like apples , pear , papaya etc. Even though treats make for a small portion on the diet intake for dogs , we believe that every piece of treat , no matter how small should add to the health of the doggy.
Wholesome Treats
Like the food we eat, every piece of food that goes into our doggos stomach should enhance the doggos health. Our approach to achieving this is two pronged – add the best quality of ingredients and add the right combination of ingredients. We believe in a wholesome offering – our treats are therefore wholesome and nutritious – our biscuits have the goodness of chicken and fruits and also veggies …our chicken jerky not only delivers the nutrition of chicken but also delivers the goodness of fruits. Our Veg Treats are as healthy and wholesome as it comes – combination of the best veggies and fruits. We have treats with healthy seeds, with healthy oils, with super herbs like Turmeric and Ashwagandha….and the best part is – they are so yummy, even you might be tempted to eat them.
Rethinking Treats
What makes dog treats healthy? … one obvious thing is the ingredients that go into the treats… but it goes deeper than that. The pet food industry in India is still quite unregulated. This opens us the possibility for lots of misinformation regarding the quality of the ingredients. E.g a chicken based treat qualifies to be called a chicken treat even if chicken as an ingredient is the second last ingredient in the recipe…or a treat claiming to be having veggies and fruits can infact have veggie powder or fruits powder or even worse veggie flavoring or fruits flavoring ! our approach to treats is this – ONLY add to treats what you yourself will eat ! so when we claim chicken on the label – it is real chicken, when we claim veggies – they are real veggies…. everything we do or add to the treats is with one singular focus – enchancement of the dogs health.
Why Ingredients Matter
”Dis-moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai ce que tu es”, which translates to ‘Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are. While we are pretty sure this was said in a human context, it is as relevant to our dear canines as well. Quality of ingredients has the biggest bearing on the quality of our treats…and therefore requires due diligence. The quality of chicken e.g can vary hugely from real chicken to processed chicken powder made of chicken waste… veggies can be fresh vegetables or processed vegetable powders with additives …fruits can be fresh fruits or fruits powders enhanced with added sugars. Looking at the quality of ingredients minutely is therefore of paramount importance. Bad ingredients can do more harm than the good which healthy ingredients can do.
